Retry one slide, pick the deck arc, read your speaker notes

A failed slide now shows up as a card you can retry instead of a hole in the deck. You can choose the story arc separately from the audience, speaker notes finally appear in Present mode, and PDF export no longer clips the right edge.

Proposal generation was reliable at the model level but unforgiving at the deck level: if one slide failed, it simply vanished, and the only fix was to regenerate everything. This release makes a deck recoverable slide by slide and gives you two things it was quietly missing.

Retry one slide

When a slide can't be generated, it now appears in the filmstrip as a failed card with the reason and a Retry this slide button. Retrying regenerates just that slide and drops it back into position; the other slides keep their place and their links. Regenerating a deck also no longer wipes the existing slides first, so a slide that fails on the second run keeps its previous version rather than leaving a gap.

If a slide ran out of room mid-generation, the message says so ("ran out of room") instead of a generic "unavailable". That case almost always succeeds on retry.

Choose the arc, not just the audience

Until now the Type (exec, engineering, customer) decided both the tone and the slide order. There is now a separate Arc choice:

  • Problem → Solution → Ask, a persuasion deck that ends on a decision
  • Context → Findings → Recommendations, a research readout in three acts
  • Options → Recommendation → Risks, compare paths, pick one, name the risks
  • Pilot → Next steps, ask for a bounded trial rather than a budget

Auto keeps the old behaviour and picks the arc from the shape of the PRD.

Speaker notes you can actually use

Thinkr has generated speaker notes for a while, but the slide prompt never asked for them, so they were usually empty, and nothing showed them. Notes are now generated for every slide, visible under the slide in the editor, and available in Present mode with the N key (or the Notes button). Shared public links still hide them.

PDF export fixed

Export PDF previously clipped roughly the right 160px of every slide and let one slide's styles leak into the next. Each slide now prints as its own isolated 1280 × 720 page.

Chat edits are also more honest: if a rewrite fails, the reply says so instead of claiming the slide was updated, and requests to add, delete or reorder slides point you to the filmstrip controls rather than silently doing nothing.
