Proposal
How to build a proposal in Thinkr
Turn a PRD into a presentable slide deck — pick a spec and audience, review the outline, generate the slides, refine by chat, then share or present.

A proposal turns a PRD into a presentable slide deck — the version of your spec you put in front of leadership, engineering, or a customer. You choose the audience, review a slide outline, generate the deck, then tighten it by chat and share or present. It's how a PRD becomes a story other people can sit through.
Before you start
You need a generated PRD to build from. There are two ways in: open Proposal from the sidebar, or — from a published PRD's Save & Share menu — click Create proposal deck, which drops you into the same flow with that PRD already selected.
On the Proposals page, first time you'll see "No proposals yet" — "Generate a slide deck from a PRD and present it to your audience." — with a New Proposal → button. Otherwise click + New proposal.
Step 1 — Configure the deck
In the Configure panel:
- Select PRD — pick the spec ("Search and select a PRD…").
- Title — e.g. Q3 Investor pitch.
- Type — choose who it's for, and the structure adapts:
- Exec pitch — leadership / investors. 8–10 slides, outcomes-led.
- Engineering kickoff — team alignment. 10–12 slides, technical.
- Customer demo — external. 6–8 slides, jargon-free.
- Custom — let Thinkr pick a structure from the PRD.
- Focus prompt (optional) — bias the deck, e.g. "Focus on the pricing story. Skip implementation slides. Hammer the timeline risk."
Click Plan slides.
Step 2 — Review the slide outline
Thinkr proposes a slide list first. Reorder, rename, add, or remove slides until the narrative is right, then click Generate slides. Use Regenerate outline if you want a fresh structure.
The outline is the argument. Get the order of slides telling the story you want before you generate — it's far quicker than rewriting finished slides.
Step 3 — Generate the slides
Generation runs in two passes — Planning the slide deck, then Generating slides ("4 of 9 — Pricing"). Give it a couple of minutes and leave the page open. When it's done you land on the Preview: the current slide up top, a filmstrip of thumbnails below. Click a thumbnail to jump, drag to reorder, or hover to delete a slide.
Step 4 — Refine via chat
Open the Chat tab and ask for changes in plain language — "rewrite slide 3" or "tighten the pricing slide." Thinkr updates the deck and tells you which slides it touched ("Updated: slide 1, 3").
Step 5 — Share, export, or present
Open the Actions menu (top-right):
- Share — Enable public link, then Copy it. Anyone with the link can view the deck (speaker notes stay hidden). You can Rotate link or Revoke it anytime.
- Export PDF — for sending a static copy.
- Present — full-screen presenter mode; arrow keys to move, Esc to exit.
Need to start over? Regenerate deck plans a fresh outline and replaces the slides once you confirm.
That's the loop
Pick a PRD, choose the audience, shape the outline, generate, refine by chat, then share or present. The deck stays tied to the spec it came from — so what you present is what you actually scoped.
Ready to try it? Open Thinkr and click Proposal.
